This page applies to the TankForge app and TankForge services. It explains how to request account deletion, what TankForge deletes, what may be retained or anonymized, and how long that process can take.

Request deletion in the app

If you use a TankForge client that shows the self-serve delete option, open Settings, go to Account, choose Delete Account, then confirm the request.

Request deletion by email

If you do not see the in-app option, email [email protected] from the email address tied to your TankForge account with the subject line TankForge Account Deletion Request.

The fastest path is to use TankForge's in-app delete flow when it is available on your client. If it is not available, email [email protected] from your TankForge account email and include your username or the email address on the account so we can validate the request.

1. How to request deletion

Option A: In-app deletion. In supported TankForge clients, open Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.

Option B: Email request. If you do not have access to the in-app delete option, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your TankForge account using the subject line TankForge Account Deletion Request.

To help us process the request on the first pass, include your TankForge username and the sign-in email on the account. If we cannot verify ownership from the email alone, we may ask for minimal additional verification before deleting the account.

2. What TankForge deletes

When your deletion request is completed, TankForge deletes your account and the app data associated with it, including:

  • Your TankForge account profile, username, and linked sign-in identities.
  • Your tanks, livestock, plant, coral, macroalgae, and equipment records.
  • Maintenance logs, water test history, journal entries, care plans, smart alerts, and quarantine plans.
  • Share links, caretaker sessions, export history, active device tokens, refresh tokens, and other active session records tied to the account.

3. What TankForge may keep or anonymize

Some limited records may be retained or transformed after account deletion:

  • Security and audit records. Certain security and API audit events may remain in de-identified or disassociated form for fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
  • Operational metrics. Endpoint performance metrics may remain in aggregate or non-account-specific form.
  • Payment processor records. If you purchased TankForge Pro through Apple, Google Play, or Stripe, those providers may retain transaction records in their own systems under their legal and financial retention requirements.
  • Legally required retention. We may retain limited information where required by law, necessary to resolve disputes, or needed for fraud prevention.

4. Timing and retention

TankForge deletes or anonymizes your personal data within 30 days of a validated deletion request.

API audit logs are automatically deleted after 30 days under the normal retention policy. Endpoint performance metrics are retained for 14 days. If a legal, billing, dispute, or fraud-prevention obligation applies, the limited information required for that purpose may be retained for longer.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Deleting your TankForge account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Apple, Google Play, or Stripe. If you have an active subscription, cancel it separately through the store or billing provider that manages it.

For more on billing and privacy, see Terms and Privacy Policy.
